The particular formalization of the building also has a vocation of friendly urban building, which through its absence of edges and the vibrant movement of his bands, invites us to explore it.

It is deliberately shuns the usual image of the new auditoriums as opaque and closed, buildings as prisoners treasures in beautiful urns… And we are strongly committed to a building open to the city and its inhabitants. A place that generates life urban in moments of representations as in the rest of the time, through the possibilities of the new indoor plaza and the existence of cafes and shops linked to the world of art and music. Thus the building is formalized with a winding perimeter, with different starters that invite you to access and explore the building, by way of a large open hand to the city, welcoming to the citizens and visitors of scheduled activities.

Furthermore, the possibility of opening the large space between the main, as a large square coveredapplications, generating a desirable continuity with the new outdoor plaza, at the same time allowing its use as a covered urban space, site of Hall prior to the entrance of the shows, including programming of Convention and exhibition space is proposed. This possibility of generating an urban space covered prior to the access and to the inevitable queues prior to functions according to climatology of Vitoria-Gasteiz seems interesting.

This option is possible by the redefinition of the independence of access from the main applications, generating the required ability of simultaneous events in the different rooms.

The building attempts to through its expressive qualities generate the necessary representativeness of the use that we are discussing. So looking for a controlled space impact that generate the desirable urban qualities of the new urban environment, but always with the aim of building friendly to their residential environment, in accordance with the exceptional environmental qualities of the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Thus the building is conceived as four large volumes sculptural, formed as metal masses faceted (pretending to a language near the magnificent Basque sculpture), stranded in a supposedly neutral environment abstract, and wrapped with a delicate skin of glass and metal trusses.
First skin loosens in vibrant bands according to the different volumes to wrap, with a total absence of edges, creating continuous and sinuous, bands that invite you to explore the building and shows its most friendly to the pre-existing urban and residential environment.
The wrapper is formalized as a double skin: a inner glass printing as thermal and sealed envelope and outside of truss with variable degree of depth adjusted to the different needs of orientation.
The metal part only surrounds the outer perimeter, and offset of the vitreous inside that continues inside creating the physical separation and not visual of the different rooms.
Skin built virius and metal trusses solution generates a picture of some mass during the day, and a spectacular translucency at night, suggesting the Interior volumes between the life of the evening shows.
The building turns like a huge lantern in the night, and shows the spectacle of the audience as a claim to the rest of the city.
The final form of the building comes from the internal logic of the volumes involved, folding to the programmatic needs of Interior applications, abandoning an attitude of formalisations a priori that impair the functionality of the essential uses.
The bands are retracted height creating interesting spaces on the cover as a servant of the Congress area patio, (rest, cocktails, Congress acts outdoors…)
Emphasizes the courtyard perimeter solution, at the meeting of the skin with the plaza paved, generating a greater habitability conditions to the numerous uses of the basement, providing them with natural lighting and ventilation at the same time that proving an interesting formal lightness of the constructed perimeter.
