Something new, something old… Rehabilitation and extension of the presbytery in a small commune of Brittany. The challenge of this project was the rehabilitation a former rectory in the heart of La Vraie Croix, small town in Brittany. It is then to create a new library. Here the stone is queen. The project is near a chapel dating from the thirteenth century. Our intervention must be surgical precision. We must not disturb a sensitive site where tourists parade to enjoy this typical village. We chose to approach the project in two ways. The first is the rehibilitation of the old building . We affirm the openings , we create a large breakthrough in the main facade. This framework opens concrete future on its core media village. This new library must be open and dynamic. The second operation saw the creation of an extension on the west facade. This opens a cottage garden .Light and transparent , it leaves the former appear rectory. The concrete is the ideal material for us , to enter the building in its traditional buildings while giving it a radical and contemporary writing .
