The goal of the project of the extension of the Monumental Aedicule was to create an architectural organism that could relate to the existing Aedicule while producing a recognizable and contemporary character. The design was inspired by the desire to maintain the same volumetric compactness and massiveness of the existing volume and, at the same time, oppose with a different material, contrasting the stone with black panels crossed by a thin sheet of brass. These two volumes are related through a thin sheet of glass that reconciles the two volumes into a single composition.
