The main subject of this research project is the urban sprawl in Sardinia. A region that manage to escape this problem, already well-established in other parts of Europe, until recently. The work starts from an analysis of the principal settlement typologies on the coast and then it goes deeper about the Campidano corridor between Oristano and Cagliari, the part of the island more populated and where it’s easier to see the phenomenon. On this site the research tries to give an interpretation creating possible scenarios of the expansion of the urban areas and also gives some hypothesis to solve the problem of maintaining the urban quality.
