The program requested the addition of a new volume to the existing former house of Marthin Luther, a very delicate intervention, not only for architectural reasons, but also beacause it becomes an opportunity for an urban renewal.

The addition is an empty volume that, through the void of a courtyard, gives shape to the relationship between the existing and the new.

The project is driven by the idea of keeping together the unique stratification of the different scales and multiple materials, present in the place. The courtyard is grafted over the urban system of the public spaces, thanks to a sophisticated continuity of the choosen materials and it appears as a dilatation in the urban compressed space.

The composition of the courtyard follows the principle of saturation and densification. The selected materials for this actions are the corten steel and the glass.
