The theme of the contest, climbing centre, inspired us to create a lendmark for hipotetical “Belogradchik Rocks”. Instead of being literally rocks, the form of the building volume emerges from the striking rocks column which are planted underneath the layer of earth and extend up into the open landscape. Metaphorically the column has an analogy in this natural Bulgarian lendmark and their stunning cliffs.

Structurally the building can be seen as a forest of concret and light columns that provides an impressive sight from the park and from the street as well. Urbanistically, character of the centre is dominated by a large building set an expansive park lendscape.Facing the street, building has clearly connection with urban city. Solid concrete and transparenteglass facade canvas wall, mixed with a voidsbuild a rhythm that repeat and alludes to the fragmented urban environment.Plato in front the building, attractive atrium, and visually open climbing hall attract the attention of passers-by and visitors, while formallyframed park in the distance, leads them on an adventure. And a roof terrace ,remarkable from the plateau, invites guests to join and experience a view, where urban landscape melts into Vitosha mountain slopes. At the other side, approaching the park environment, volumes are gradually reduced in hight, led by aspiration to margebuilding with horizont, but at the same time directing views towards the mountains. This approachdoes not affect the park atmosphere and again keepa compact maner of the building.

Transforming box – sliding the edges volumetryof building get softener,a rough mass becomes flatter creating the curtain, a line between the urban and park landscape. Making central area – open atrium – the volume is pulled to the side and opens out the hall to the park. This openness creates visual axis that attracts visitors and makes the hall gets multipurpose.
