The design intent of the Clinical and Translational Research Building was to create an open, flexible laboratory and inspire collaboration amongst researchers that wouldn’t normally share notes. Additionally, through the different phases of design, the scope of the project kept changing in size and location due to funding. However, the team adapted and came up with innovative solutions to deliver a high design facility in which they worked around the strict parameters of a tight urban parcel both on time and under budget.
