ARCHIVE- IT’S CITY STORAGE OF COLLECTIVE IDENTITY. OPEN FOR WIDE USE, CLOSED SYSTEM IN WHICH KEPT DOCUMENTARY CAPTURED CITY-CHANGING STORY. DOMINANT OF THE TERITORY The plot of grain in containers converted into parchment scrolls symbol. This archive creates a new complex of buildings, strong site identity. Formed by an attractive new public space is given meaning by the continuous time and grain-flowing metaphor (the main walkway surrounding the plot). THE PRESENT FIXATION IN BUILDING SILHOUETTE The strongest plot-acting derivative of natural Aleksotas slope is used as a current reflection into the history. By reflecting meandering treetops into existing grain elevators building silhouette would soften the contour of the tanks and revitalize the connection between building and slope. In the tanks are keeping the city history and the present moment is stored in the building form.

VIEWPOINT This territory is a divide between Freda accumulate in upper and lower terraces, and the existing tower is used as a connector between them. Great tower superstructure creates a vertical, as a landmark, highly visible from the upper terrace, where the design of the city cafe. Access is possible from the slope of the lift station, and cafe is becoming a new city viewpoint. A WIDE VISUAL FIELD AXIS ALLOWS VISITORS TO MONITOR THE CITY’S HISTORICAL SETTING. Archive facilities are divided into three main groups: _1) Repository 2) Read-traffic area 3) Service spaces_ Storage and reading room layout and vertical correlation, storage installed above reading rooms. It shortens the document transport path.

STORAGE Document storage is designed by automatic document transport system. Movement trajectories are maintained the same as in the former grain elevator. Horizontal movement trail circling above the projected storage combines all the tanks and restoration of the building. Vertical movement fitted in each tank for safe custody documents. Lowering the voucher vertical take one designed for visitors and a second staff used more as new documents lifter. Document captures and transfers of horizontal runway work using magnetic principle.
