Description The project involved the external setup and creating a winter garden in the service of an apartment on the ground floor of the residential building block “Nautica”, small apartment on three levels. The additional volume is projected glass, seamless, garden, placed on levels degrading due to the steep gradient of the road ahead and place the highest share of the garden, it seems almost suspended on the lawn below; effect further emphasized by the use of continuous strips of LEDs hidden under the overhanging block access stairs and by slender iron.

The design idea of the construction of the entire building was created by the particular shape of the building floor plan, dictated by the triangular lot available. The need, linked to planning and volumetric indices, that the planimetric complex culminate south of the lot, with an acute angle, assumed value of creative ideas .

The identification of this ” bow ”, finished with granagliato of lava rock to emphasize it, pointed to the south in the direction of the hot Sicilian sun, has developed into a sequential the remaining part of the building.

The slope towards the ” bow ” of the road that overlooks the main elevation helps give a sense of dynamism to the building that , in the perspective game thus created, it almost seems to slip forward at any moment, withheld peaks to the dock invisible.

Other references to the maritime theme are: the type porthole openings and the terrace on the attic floor that draws in the form and in the treatment of side rails on the upper deck.
