Green Wave

1

The idea of the Green Wave emerged spontaneously in a place where there are many variables and strong input, like the perfect subdivision of the fields for the cultivation and saline. After some analysis about the sunshine, the weather and the wind, the form of the wave seams perfect for a good illumination, to absorb and save the water by the rainwater, to don’t suffer the impact of the wind, seeking instead to canalize them.

Access to the terminal shall be by connection to the existing road to the north-‐east. between the connection road and the terminal is the parking area, filtered by a band of trees. The parking lots, for which it was designed a system of “green permeable parking”, are divided into uncovered (5,138) and covered (2,084), located below the initial wave. Even if the waves are staggered the parking system remains aligned. Once past the parking area, you enter the hall of terminal where there are several functions: ticketing, lost and found, check-‐in, and an elevator from which you can climb to the roof garden. Then there are the security checks, after which it enters the waiting area at various levels.

Wind_ The roof-‐wave allows the concentration of hot air in the height, where they were placed the large opening skylights in such a way as to create a spontaneous ventilation in summer. The study of the winds was also vital to the position of the runways that follow the main winds coming from the north and so as to facilitate the take-‐off and landing.

Precipitation_ Moreover this conformation of the roof together with the choice of the roof garden allows to have a total permeability of the covered parts and to collect in storage points rainwater, to be disposed slowly or for later use as needed.

Structure

the structure is made of steel truss, with pillars inclined according to different directions in order to increase the stability, supporting a rigid slab. Each order of pillar / slab sustains the next one until the coverage for which they are designed truss that follow the trend wave.
