Un intervento di restyling low cost, perchè non sempre è necessario stravolgere per cambiare.Uso dei materiali e dei colori per contrastare e emozionare il visitatore della mostra cercando di veicolare e focalizzare la sua attenzione non sul contenitore ma sul contenuto.

La serie di rubinetterie da bagno nasce dal brief aziendale di creare 3 linee con un unico corpo e 3 maniglie differenti, capaci di accontentare gusti diversi, che fossero versatili e dal forte riferimento iconico coniugate in 3 differenti finiture. Come il più irrinunciabile degli accessori Tie, Tab e Tip completano l’ambiente bagno concretizzando l’eleganza quotidiana in molteplici declinazioni.

„Riva Roma“ is an individual collection that maps the history of Rome’s water supply by layering representative water features from different historical eras. Combining chronology, hydrology, and topography, „Riva Roma“ is an invitation to explore the city along different routes. It reflects urban planning strategies and urbanization processes and reveals how they have shaped the city’s morphology and the structure of public space to this day. „Riva Roma“ prompts a shift in perspective in order to recognize urban-spatial relationships. It provides orientation within urban space and establishes a relationship with the landscape. For the exhibition at the Martin Gropius Bau, the waterways were traced on the floor. The most representative water features, nodes within the water supply network, were suspended from the ceiling to depict Rome’s urban topography.

The house was designed for an old couple with a desire of a new house where they could be more connect to the exterior, without lose their loved privacy.

The external and internal areas of the house are mixed up into a visual continuous space, organized by a series of courtyards that light up and enclose each compartment. There are three parts well defined composed by a gourmet + garage / living + kitchen / rooms. Those components occupy strategic positions in order to organize the house in a simple spatial arrangement.

The courtyards are essentially green spaces, but the most important is to understand them as voids, places where the indoor house programs can expand. Along the lounge, a large terrace extends the room into an flexible space afforded by a mobile roof mechanically operated.

The house consists of a set of “terraces rooms” with a spatial logic that goes beyond the usual concept of internal and external, closed or open.

Two very different urban contexts overlap at this corner property. The narrow front faces a busy arterial road. The back stretches along a quiet residential street. The design of the project responds to this contrast in scale and building regulations. An elevated three-story massive volume marks the corner and reacts to the most urban condition of the place while four row houses establish continuity with the existing residential neighborhood. The row houses are characterized by an open plan on the ground level, from the street to the inner private garden. On the upper floor, a partial split level allows daylight into the bathroom and onto the stairway. Although formally distinct, the two structures are united by the use materials and a shared design for the street level. Conceptually they both engage with urban thinking and detail scale, traditional standards and innovative forms.

Un’analisi attenta degli eventi che vanno dai mondiali di motocross ad altre attivita’ sportive durante i diversi periodi dell’ anno, hanno portato la necessita’ di creare un “villaggio” che potesse rispondere in maniera flessibilealle diverse necessita’ e fosse di fatto facilmente gestibile, di rapida realizzazione e di impatto emotivo ed estetico. Da qui l’ idea di utilizzare i continers marittimi.

Il teatro composito di Via Poggioreale si articola su due livelli al coperto ed un terzo lasciato in “plen-air”; quest’ultimo costituisce la cavea da fruirsi liberamente come luogo di sosta e d’incontri, in funzione di una piazza interna, che si presta anche allo svolgimento di manifestazioni estemporanee.

Radialmente ad essa sono disposti sulle linee perimetrali di collegamento con le torri e gli edifici a stecca del centro INAIL, che vengono a circoscrivere lo spazio attrezzato della cavea all’aperto, perfettamente circolare, che segna il fulcro della composizione.

Sul piano funzionale il progetto nasce come una sorta di “Multipolis” (più funzioni urbane in una unica configurazione linguistica); il complesso architettonico si compone di due corpi a stecca destinati ad alloggi integrati per i dipendenti del Ministero delle Poste e Telecomunicazioni, di un edificio a torre alto circa 70 metri destinato ad alloggi per i dipendenti della ex Azienda Statale per i Servizi Telefonici, della nuova sede degli uffici Napoli Est della Telecom Italia e del centro di grande distribuzione alimentare GS, oltre ad aree esterne e di connessione come un mercato comunale di fiori.

L’approccio progettuale reinterpreta in chiave contemporanea l’esperienza del Movimento Moderno in Europa, con particolare riferimento alla ricerca tipologica di Klein e delle Siedlung tedesche degli anni ’30, coniugata nell’ambito della tradizione abitativa e costruttiva napoletana; il complesso infatti restituisce una visione di definita orizzontalità che scandisce, riproponendola in chiave contemporanea, una percezione basamentale coerente, rassicurante, interrotta ed esaltata dalla emergenza dell’edificio torre e dalla pronunciata articolazione spaziale dei piani orizzontali.

La sequenza compositiva su più superfici a piastra sfalsate su vari livelli, adibite anche a parcheggi e verde attrezzato, ha determinato la possibilità di insediare più funzioni all’interno di un lotto relativamente contenuto in termini dimensionali.

Nel progetto delle residenze viene affrontata, anticipandola progettualmente, la problematica di una eventuale estensione della quadratura interna attraverso verande e simili, con il disegno di un reticolo di facciata tale da offrire, nella eventualità di una azione trasformativa individuale e disarticolata, una sorta di linea guida ordinativa che possa contribuire al mantenimento di una organicità formale anche in presenza di una probabile eterogeneità.

La scelta del tratto finale della via Nuova Poggioreale, a ridosso nell’emiciclo cimiteriale, apparse la collocazione più idonea per definire l’opera come una sorta di “porta” orientale di Napoli considerato che, dall’ingresso in città dalla via Stadera e dalla statale 7 bis Avellino-Nola-Pomigliano d’Arco, il complesso architettonico diviene la prima testimonianza del nuovo disegno urbano dell’area per poi proseguire nell’approfondimento emozionale con il polifunzionale INAIL e con gli edifici del Centro Direzionale.

Questo lavoro può essere ritenuto l’esempio più rappresentativo nel campo degli insediamenti abitativi degli ultimi anni, in quanto assomma, in un unico processo progettuale, le pregresse esperienze di Cennamo nelle realizzazioni degli altri quartieri (Portici, Napoli, Capodimonte, Marano, Napoli – Arpino), con l‘apporto dell’uso delle tecnologie post – industriali avanzate proprie della bio – architettura – che hanno inciso sulla qualità dell’intervento – e, infine, con l’esperienza fatta nel campo dell’edilizia pubblica abitativa nella qualità di Presidente della Commissione Regionale per l’erogazione dei fondi pubblici ad Imprese, Cooperative, Comuni ed I.A.C.P.

In questo progetto, infatti, recuperando le lezioni del Movimento Moderno, viene posta particolare attenzione allo studio della ottimizzazione ambientale derivante dall’asse eliotermico e dalla cattura equisolare della luce naturale e dei raggi calorici negli equinozi e nei solstizi, pervenendo, così, ad una tipologia residenziale a basso costo e a basso consumo energetico.

I blocchi residenziali a schiera e in linea sono, poi, integrati dalle attrezzature di interesse pubblico in un’unica configurazione spaziale in maniera da evitare qualsiasi soluzione di continuità tra le funzioni.

Nella sua impostazione planimetrica, infatti, il disegno trova il suo fulcro e la sua cerniera nel sistema “Piazza” organizzata su due livelli in modo da separare e specializzare le tipologie di spostamento autoveicolare da quelle pedonali e da quelle di sosta e di tempo libero.

An old house in Porto Alegre has given space to a charming coffee shop inspired in japanese and scandinavian architecture. The structure technical requirements has limited the design since it could not be modified. In addition, the deadline was fairly tight. The challenge was to transform thatresidencial space into a coffee shop designed in simple and objective lines with clean shapes, colours and composition. The coffee shop was divided in three spaces: At the entrance, the deck with a share table gives an informal atmosphere that allows great contact with outside and the street landscape. The salient features of the main lounge are the pine panels that, through a strip around the tables transforms into the main volume: the counter and the showcase. At the back, the second lounge keeps the idea of the panels, priorizing large tables, then often used for events and meetings. The existing walls had created recesses that provided more privacy to the ambient. The space has as marking colour the yellow by and also posters that illustrate Aeropress championships – method to extract coffee- around the world. The tables designed by the office are a good combination with the famous UMA Oppa’s chair. The language of the project, developed alongside the creation of the brand’s visual identity, allowed a final result in harmony with the products of the coffee shop and the minimalist tone in all details.

Located at a major high-end commercial district at the intersection of Changde Road and Nanjing West Road in Shanghai, a new façade is created for the fashion house Ports 1961’s flagship store.

The facade is representative of the future vision of Ports 1961 that brings together its origin and evolution. The design evokes the idea of a landform that resembles an iceberg floating freely in the ocean; the building having a sense of being undulated, expanding and contracting, as if shaped by its environment.

The facade demonstrates the possibilities of design experimentation, showing the transformation of form, material and technology, while still bringing aspect of both traditional and contemporary interpretations. The structural grandeur of the building attracts attention while its ambivalent nature is uniquely changing with its surroundings.

The facade is composed of two types of glass blocks; a standard 300mm x 300mm glass block and a custom 300mm x 300mm x 300mm corner glass block. Unlike most glass block masonry constructions, it is not limited to one vertical plane. The combinations of the two types of glass block create a sculpted three-dimensional façade exhibiting cantilevered structures. By incorporating innovative structural engineering and inventing a new joining system in the block itself, an elaborate ornamental stepping canopy is achieved that naturally angles to the flow of pedestrian and allows for four bow windows to be visible from all directions.

The usage of satin glass block and shot blasted stainless steel material is in great contrast to the chaotic city. During the day, it mutes the surroundings, while subtly reflecting the sunlight. In the evening, the view is icy and crisp, and the surface illuminates with embedded LED lights integrated into the joints of the masonry. The differing geometries and changing perspectives of the facade expresses the transformative nature of the people and the city of Shanghai.

The project for the House of Hungarian music comes from the reinterpretation of a Paul Klee’s draw named “polyphony at four voices”.

Klee born as musician and become an artist for shyness but continued to mix his visions and experiences, theorizing the “figurative polyphony” as graphic transposition of acoustic concepts in a radical rethinking of shapes and the research of instable balances of draws and figures.

From a Klee’s draw, describing soft shapes that follows a varying and coordinate sequence of sounds, comes the project.

The figure suggested by the visual matrix, is in harmony with the garden and the big city park, so we imagined that the whole level for expositions had to be hosted on a suspended slab with the same shape of the suggested figure. The circular façade of the museum’s fl oor is a ventilated curtain that gives good energy performance advantages.

The external skin is made of “led wall”, a new technology that allows to vary the dimming surface compared to the direct solar lighting. This technology is controlled by an automatic electrical system.

The “led wall” allows to obscure the facade during the day and will host frames synchronized with the sound of music during the night.

The building’s profile is aerodynamic, absorbing or warding his internal spaces from drafts, depending on season needs. Cold breezes entering from the bottom of the patio can refresh the building and also push out from the roof’s holes the warm air.

Vice verse in cold periods, closing the façade, the whole building is protected from cold winds.

Roof’s solar panels provide a sufficient amount of energy to supply the building’s needs.

The roofing also allows to collect rainwater, stored in a tank located in the underground level.

This stocking system can supply a part of the necessary amount of water utilized, reducing significantly the furniture from public water distribution.

The site is an existing school where a number of structures were demolished, a number of classroom blocks were built while the external spaces were rationalised and in certain locations resurfaced. Within the canopies of the existing trees we proposed no dig construction, in line with industry best practice. Where wooden decks were proposed we adopted principals which minimised the likely impact on the roots of the existing trees. We adopted a number of construction techniques to provide the desired surface finish whilst minimising the impact of construction on the existing trees. The football pitch was remodelled to accommodate excess fill and some contaminated fill generated by site excavations. This was designed so as to minimise the impact on existing and proposed structures and ensured that adequate circulation space was maintained.
