A wedge has been nailed on the ground creating a violent crack; the terrain collapses forming a new canyon!!!

The building appears as a volume covering the wedge and part of the canyon in order to give place to a new reference point for all active people offering unlimited possibilities of sports, rest and social interaction and offering a strong landmark to the Mladost area.

A rotation of the building allow to extend the views towards the park area and generates a new public space marking the main entrance to the complex and aligning with the main pedestrian accesses towards the metro station.

The project takes advantage of this new artificial topography in order to provide the greatest amount of climbing area with maximum versatility: an extensive typological variation of boulder walls plus 4087 m2 of climbing surface potential.

The program focuses on a compact volume with a minimum footprint in order to stimulate different synergies in a centralized structure with a clear functional logic.

A set of void spaces inside the building generate crossed views and allows better natural lighting while incorporating movement and interactivity as a base concept of the Center.

The activities extend over the park area taking advantage of the different topographies in order to graduate the privacy and allowing potential uses for a wide range of sportive and cultural events.

The building operation in conjunction with the park generates a variety of “exploration paths” activating the peripheral circulation throughout the whole complex.

The new urban square can be used for outdoor climbing exhibitions as the main facade of the building is formed by a concrete climbing wall; it works as an open air entrance hall for the building. A set of sliding doors allow to connect both the indoor and outdoor hall during the summer for a more continuous and fluent space.
